Sanofi halts Phase 3 trial of riliprubart after interim data disappoint

Sanofi (SNY) has halted a Phase 3 clinical trial of riliprubart, an experimental treatment for a rare neurological disorder, after an interim analysis concluded the drug was unlikely to demonstrate sufficient efficacy.

The MOBILIZE study had been evaluating riliprubart in patients with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy whose condition had not responded to standard therapies. An independent data monitoring committee found no safety concerns associated with the drug during the interim review, but determined the trial was unlikely to meet its primary endpoints.

Sanofi said it would assess whether to continue other ongoing riliprubart studies, including the Phase 3 VITALIZE trial. The French drugmaker added that the decision to discontinue MOBILIZE would not result in material financial charges or alter its full-year 2026 guidance.
